Teaj Bechard, M.Ac., L.Ac., Th.M.
Licensed Acupuncturist
Certified Acupuncture
Detoxification Specialist
I am committed to partnering with each of my clients as they awaken
their body to its own inner wisdom. I believe that acupuncture is an
extremely powerful and effective, non-invasive, holistic system of
healing that addresses both physical and mental/emotional issues, as
well as providing an overall greater sense of well being. Every
treatment is uniquely designed for each individual. It is my intention
to create a safe, non-judgmental and nurturing environment for my
patients where I can offer clear possibilities to support them in their
journey towards greater health and wellness.
My appreciation of the power and beauty of this form of medicine stems
from a profound personal experience. I received my first acupuncture
treatment in 1997 and I was astounded by the results I experienced. I
became so intrigued by both the complexity and simplicity of this
medicine, that I was inspired to study this ancient art of healing which
is based on nature as well as the Chinese Medical Classics written over
3000 years ago.
I am licensed to practice acupuncture by the state of Maryland. My
Master’s Degree in Acupuncture is from the prestigious Tai Sophia
Institute for the Healing Arts. This school has become the anchoring
Institution for wellness-based medicine in this country. The Master’s in
Acupuncture is a rigorous four-year program that encompasses over 3000
hours of combined academic and clinical work.
In addition to acupuncture, I offer a variety of healing modalities. I
am a nationally certified detoxification specialist through NADA, the
National Auricular Detoxification Association. I have a Master’s degree
in Theology, with a concentration in spiritual healing and counseling,
from the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism. I offer spiritual
healing sessions, in person and on the phone, which allow people to
realize the deep connection they already have with their hearts and the
divine. These sessions are
experiential and help relieve both physical and emotional suffering. I
am also a candidate for certification as a Zero Balancing Practitioner,
through the Zero Balancing Health Association (ZBHA).
I hold an undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering,
and was a science and mathematics teacher and tutor for 15 years while
raising my two sons.
